This summer, Oral History Summer School returns to Hillsdale, NY for a week-long Oral History Intensive at a unique location: Sylvan Motor Lodge. Come all ye documentarians, journalists, artists, media-makers, educators and those looking to learn new things in good company! Tuition ranges from $1,800–2,650, with some fellowships for tuition-free seats also available.
The Bethany Arts Community Fall Multidisciplinary Residency provides an environment where artists from different disciplines and walks of life can work in community and near each other, creating opportunities for generative collaboration and cross-pollination. The residency runs for two sessions, 9/25 to 10/9 and 10/2 to 10/16, each with its own cohort. Artists are provided room & board, a private studio conducive to artists’ medium and/or project, 3 basic meals a day, and a $225 stipend per week upon completion of the residency. The Wassaic Project’s 2023 Haunted Hamlet seeks site-specific installations, outdoor installations, and performances, with priority given to projects that prioritize immersive and interactive proposals. Artists receive 1–3 weeks of housing and studio space, plus a modest honorarium. Application fee: $25. Deadline: May 1, 2023
The O+ Fest 2023 Art, Music and Writing Submissions are now open! Artists, writers and musicians of all genres, mediums and modalities are invited to propose exhibitions, productions, performances, and more. While there will be opportunities for more traditionally exhibited work, submissions that are site specific, nomadic or amenable to non-traditional/outdoor exhibition, installation or performance spaces are strongly encouraged.
