NEW: The Hortus Residency Program is open to established and emerging artists, botanical artists, or photographers, who are exploring the themes of nature and/or the human connection with nature. The residency runs from August 21–28, 2023. Housing and unlimited access to the gardens is provided. Application fee: $35. Deadline: February 28, 2023
NEW: Stomping Ground’s Artist in Residency Program provides the perfect balance of contemplative study and community engagement at a summer camp at the base of the Adirondack Mountains in just outside of Saratoga Springs. Creative residents receive a fully-subsidized stay, including three meals a day, in exchange for giving back to our unique community. All residents commit to give back to the community, but exactly how that gift transpires is up to each creative resident and approved by Stomping Ground staff.
The NYSCA/NYFA Artists with Disabilities Grant program will distribute cash grants of $1,000 to artists with a disability who have experienced financial hardship due to the COVID-19 crisis to cover art related expenses. The grant is open to visual, media, music, performing, literary, and multidisciplinary artists who live in New York State. Deadline: June 6, 2023 at 5:00 p.m.
Oral History Summer School returns to Hillsdale, NY this summer for a week-long Oral History Intensive at a unique location: Sylvan Motor Lodge. Come all ye documentarians, journalists, artists, media-makers, educators and those looking to learn new things in good company! The workshop takes place from July 23–30 and tuition ranges from $1,800–2,650, with some fellowships for tuition-free seats also available. Deadline: Rolling until filled
